From the past few months up until now, COVID-19 has taken a toll on almost everyone’s way of life, including schooling and learning. Looking back to March 2020, Edniche launched our first-step online learning platform, myclass.edniche.online, to accommodate our students’ language learning pursuance. We have to admit that it was early. Though we planned for it two years ago, we didn’t expect for it to be put into use in 2020.
In October 2020, our term 40 has just started well as planned. As usual, we cannot be thankful enough to all staff members, teachers, and students for their cooperation, understanding, and, most important of all, collective perseverance. Edniche couldn’t be more proud to have everyone.
Learning English Online for Cambodian
This happens too soon for many. Though online learning is not new for the world, we rarely talk about it in Cambodia. Yet, it has now become the new normal unanticipatedly.
Edniche first allowed access to myclass.edniche.online to all the students in late March 2020. We have to say it was a struggle for many, both the teachers and students. The problems of lacking basic operational digital skills and unstable internet connection were the major ones.
Changes have never been easy. Nonetheless, almost all the students were determined to adapt despite the steep learning curve. Today, both the teachers and students at Edniche has come to work symmetrically to build a more resilient classroom environment we cherish.
“It’s time to step up to the plate and get passionate about your work commit to making eLearning courses that don't bore people to tears, but instead inspire and motivate them to learn a new skill, change a certain behavior, or improve their performance.”

Curriculum Enrichement
In fact, practicing English skills online isn’t something entirely new to students at Edniche. Remember we have Oxford and Smart Choice online practices? Yes, but they were neither flexible nor extensive for our use.
For many years, Edniche has realized the need for more intriguing off-classroom language practices. This is one of the many reasons for the inception of Edniche Online. At present, we have incorporated digital course contents that help increase students’ language exposure.
The immediate outcome as of today is our classroom sessions have become more productive. The potency is yet too early to call.
What we are doing with our online learning platform
Since the start of term 40, you may notice that our Facebook page has been quiet. We don’t have new videos? Or are you wondering what we are up to? Well, we are working tirelessly to prepare for the next milestone of Edniche Online. While the abrupt change of our teaching and learning could be perceived as a hindrance, it is also undeniably an opportunity for all of us to embrace the eminence of the digital world.
In this new study term, we have added more course content and built hundreds of new online exercises to offer more diversified practices. The look and feel of Edniche Online have also been remade.
Edniche Online is being intensively worked on days and nights. Actually, it will always be work-in-progress. Don’t you think so? There will always be new lessons added, at least.
You could expect the platform to be more engaging and the course contents to become more dynamic and challenging.
Now that we have Edniche Online, we can exploit the teacher-students’ direct contact time more efficiently and effectively. Our term assessment will also be streamlined to be more inclusive and reflective results-based.
Stay tuned! We will keep you posted. Edniche Online will be used to bridge language learning difficulties currently faced by Cambodian students.
And to our students, please do not forget to complete the lessons in Edniche Online!
